Unit 2C

1. I completed my lesson of Feminism in film on the 4th of November at Witney college, in front of my classmates. There were 19 people in the lesson in total (including my tutor and technician). The lesson went on for 23 minutes and in my presentation I covered; what feminism is, the different forms of feminist theory, a short video about the female gaze and some important women in film. I did have a Q & A with the class afterwards but the footage was too long so I cut it down from 32 minutes to 23 minutes.

(Unfortunately I cannot embed the video as it is too long.)

3.  Presenting to my class was extremely daunting because I was nervous about how they would take the topic and whether they would find it boring. I did rush through my presentation a bit because I included a lot of slides and I was very conscious about time but it did mean that I might not have explained my presentation as well as I could have. However, I do think that my peers found it interesting as lots of them asked questions at the end and asked for the links to the other videos in my powerpoint that I didn't get to show. I think, for such a complicated and detailed subject, I was able to condense it down into something manageable and simple for my peers. Additionally, this experience will help me with future briefs that I will have to give in my college course and later on in life. To improve my presentation, I should have gone through the slides a bit slower, and written out what was on the slides on a separate piece of paper. Although I did have a print out of the slides, the room was too dark, the font was too small and I was very nervous so I couldn't read from my print out that well but it wasn't a major problem.
