Day 8

5th of November 2016

Today was the main day that we had to edit our footage and put it on a time line, or lock the footage. We watched through all the footage we had and decided which pieces we liked the best and would support the visual effects the most. Whilst watching through, we noticed reflections in picture frames from the lights or how you could occasionally hear background noise which diminished the quality of the shot, which was quite disheartening since we had spent such a long time filming and working on the quality of the sound and lighting.

Once we had done this, we split off into separate groups to focus on different aspects of post production; sound, foley and editing. We rotated a few times so that we got to have a go at each task and review each others work, because its easier to spot mistakes and amend them.
For foley, we had to think of how we could emphasize the movements of our two actors. Although there wasn't much interaction or violence between them, there was still a lot of movement around the room and contact with the floor. Our recording does have really good sound so we might not need to add that much but it might be useful to create a more dramatic effect.
Our music choices are going to be quite difficult because we want to layer as much sound as possible but we cannot copyright already published pieces, which might narrow down our choices. Hopefully we'll manage to figure something out for next week.
We managed to get a large portion of work done but we have yet to adjust the grading, add the sounds and work on graphics but hopefully we'll get this done on our last post production day.
