Film day!!!!!!!
My actor Ollie, Lily, Peter and I met up early so that we could bus into Thame and help set up the room at Tiegan's house and do a practice run through before Liam, Oscar, Joanna and Oscars actor Leon arrived with all the equipment. We were incredibly worried because we didn't have as much time as all the other groups to film and so each shot was done in a bit of a rush but to get around this chaotic system, we made sure that we shot every piece of action with the same angle at the same time, rather than in a chronological order. This did work to our advantage but also made us quite confused about which shots we had already filmed and what we hadn't. The only problem with this was that because we were changing gel colours so often, it took slightly longer to film each shot, especially because sometimes the lights could be seen in the shot and we would have to change the lighting again.
We made sure that the roles were divided up evenly so that everyone could focus on a specific task, for example I was director, Lily and Peter mainly focused on camera, Liam and Oscar worked on sound and Joanna was the assistant director. It was extremely tiring but everyone worked really well and really thought about the technicalities within their task such as focus on camera or background sound.
The actors worked extremely well together and managed to convey the mood of the story successfully without having to ask for too much help but were able to take advice. They really helped to bring the film together and make it perfect.
Something that really helped us in filming was the film schedule and shooting list that Lilly and Peter organised the day before. We had it stuck on the wall and could refer to it throughout the shoot and helped us easily group together the various shots. This was further supported by the script Tiegan had written, which we annotated to fit the shot schedule.
We managed to finish filming by 4:00 with many different shots and one long master shot to use as a cut between, just in case and to create fluidity.
