Today we received an introduction to the different careers and jobs involved within the filming industry such as director of photography, editor, production manager and so on. We were taught what the different skills were needed for each job which helped to suggest which jobs we would be better suited for.
Afterwards, we got back into our production groups to finish off talking about our ideas and which locations to use. We managed to set up a shot list, demonstrating how the sequence would progress which we will put in order tomorrow. We also started thinking of the different sounds that we might use as well as what might be required on set to help further enforce the mise en scene. However, we are still struggling with locations as Turl Street Kitchen hasn't replied yet, so if they don't get in touch with us by tomorrow evening, we will use our friend Tiegan's house in Thame. Although it is far away, it will be easy for us to modify the space and it will be free.
After lunch we had another lecture about animation and VFX skills within the industry. The lecturer showed us the various work he had done over the course of his career, ranging from video games to horror films and period dramas. The lecturer also showed us the different software he used, which seems simple at first, slowly becomes more and more complicated due to the layered structure and flow chart layout. VFX seems extremely interesting and intricate but I don't think it is the career for me because of how complicated and mathematical it is.
Lastly, we talked through how to achieve our goal through the arts award and regrouped again with our production groups to reaffirm what we had discussed earlier in the day.
