Unit 2B

Lesson Plan

I intend to teach a 30 minute lesson about feminist film theory and why it is still necessary in the 21st Century.
1. 5 minutes talking about what feminism is and how it can link to film.
2. I will give a 10/15 minute talk which will be backed up with a powerpoint and hand outs for the classroom.
3. 5 minutes showing a Youtube video explaining the benefits of feminism and how it can be beneficial in film.
4. The last 5 minutes I will spend showing the classroom famous females who contributed greatly to the film industry and to feminism itself.
5. I will hand out a feedback sheet at the end of the lesson for people to fill out.

My questionnaire for my lesson

I will record my session with a camera which I will borrow from Witney College and I will put it on a tripod at the back of the classroom and let it record for the whole lecture.

Before the lesson starts, I will give my class a feedback sheet asking them to rate my performance and whether my lesson was interesting and if they understood it. There will be a five star rating system at the end of feedback form just to make it related to film.

My feedback sheet

Risk Assessment
Presentation: Make sure that the projector is not too bright and that no one is seated so that the light is directly in their eyes.

Camera on tripod: Make sure the camera is placed out of reach of the class so that they don't trip over it. Make sure that the camera is firmly secured on the tripod so that it doesn't fall off and break or hit anyone.

Powerpoint: Make sure not too improvise as this could cause issues.

For the session I have asked my media teacher to record the lesson so that someone is supervising the camera and it makes it more accessible for me so I can evaluate my performance.
